Terms of Service

Plain English: By using Platito, you're telling us you're the parent or guardian of the child you're planning for, you're at least 18, and you understand Platito gives nutritional information — not medical advice. Be a person. Don't misuse the service. If something's wrong, email [email protected].

1. Who can use Platito

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Platito is designed for parents and guardians planning meals for children aged 1–12. By using the service, you confirm that:

You are the legal parent or guardian of any child profile you create;
You have the authority to make dietary decisions for that child;
You will consult a qualified pediatrician or dietitian for medical questions.

Important medical notice: Platito provides general nutritional information based on the Harvard Plate method and USDA/EFSA pediatric dietary guidelines. It is not medical advice, allergy advice, or a substitute for consulting a healthcare professional. Always verify allergen information on the actual packaging of the ingredients you buy. If your child has a diagnosed medical condition, food allergy, or dietary restriction, consult your pediatrician before using Platito's suggestions.

2. Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of information you provide, keeping your password secure, and activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract Platito's recipes, prompts, or AI system in bulk;
Use Platito for any commercial purpose (e.g. resale of menus, using Chef AI as a backend for another product);
Submit prompts intended to harm, harass, or generate unsafe content for children;
Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or paywalls;
Use Platito in any way that violates applicable law (including food safety regulations).

4. Our service

We provide Platito "as is" during beta. We strive for uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, be added, or be removed during beta. We'll notify account holders of material changes by email.

Recipes, grocery lists, and nutritional summaries are generated from Platito's recipe library and Chef AI. We do our best to keep information accurate but cannot guarantee completeness. Always cross-check allergens and cooking safety on the actual ingredient packaging.

5. Subscriptions & payment

Platito is currently free. The terms below take effect only if and when paid subscriptions ("Platito Pro") launch. We'll notify existing users by email at least 14 days before any paid plan begins, and we'll honor a loyalty discount for early users.

Price & trial. Platito Pro is intended at 4,99 € / month (or $4.99 / month where billed in USD) after a 7-day free trial. The price shown at checkout — including any applicable VAT/taxes — is the price you pay.
Free trial. If you start a 7-day free trial, we'll remind you before it ends. Unless you cancel during the trial, it converts to a paid subscription automatically.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each period until you cancel. Cancel anytime from Settings or the billing portal; access continues until the end of the period you've paid for. No cancellation fees.
EU/UK right of withdrawal. Consumers in the EU/UK have a 14-day right to withdraw. Because Platito Pro is digital content supplied immediately, by starting your subscription you expressly request that we begin the service during the withdrawal period and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost once the service has been fully performed. The 7-day free trial lets you evaluate Pro at no cost regardless.
Refunds. We refund fraudulent or duplicate charges and offer good-faith pro-rated refunds for sustained technical failures. Statutory consumer rights in your country always apply in addition.

6. Intellectual property

Platito, its recipes, copy, design, and code are ours (or licensed to us). Your account content (child profiles, saved menus, notes) remains yours — we only use it to operate the service. By submitting content to Chef AI, you grant Platito a limited license to process it for the purpose of generating responses (no training, no resale).

7. Chef AI & AI-generated content

Chef AI uses large language models (currently from Anthropic's Claude family) to answer your nutrition and meal-planning questions. AI output can contain errors, omissions, or plausible-but-wrong information. Always sanity-check suggestions that affect safety (allergens, portion sizes, serving ages, cooking temperatures). Chef AI is not a replacement for a qualified dietitian.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings or by emailing [email protected]. We may terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms. We'll tell you why (unless we're legally prohibited).

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Platito and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months, or $100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for: fraud, intentional misconduct, bodily injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Consumer protections in your country (including the EU) apply in addition to these Terms.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Platito for third-party claims arising from your misuse of the service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer in the EU/UK, the mandatory consumer protections of your country still apply.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email with at least 14 days notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
